它要有一条走廊,左边是实验室,右边是博物馆;
要有一间屋子,专门安放那些快要失传的手艺,让它们被记录、被理解、被重新使用;
让每一个愿意守护文明的人,都能在这里找到一张课桌;
让每一个快要消失的记忆,都能在这里找到一条活路;
AI、AGI、ASI

The sea breeze crosses Hainan Island all year round.
It passes the coconut groves, the harbours, and the hands that still weave brocade, sing diaosheng and perform opera in the old ways.
Here, we want to build a university.
It is still in preparation. Drawings are being revised, its name weighed, its route rehearsed again and again. It has no gate yet, no bell, no graduating class in a photograph. No one can say how large it will become — but we are certain of the shape it should grow into:
It should have a corridor with laboratories on one side and a museum on the other;
a room set aside for crafts on the verge of being lost, so they may be recorded, understood and used again;
a desk where young people from five continents sit — different languages, yet recognising one another in the same civilisation.
This university will do only one thing —
let technology learn gentleness, let culture learn to grow.
More than two thousand years ago people buried seeds in the soil, knowing what they would become yet not how far they would travel. Today we write a university's name on paper, equally unsure how far it will go. We only know this: if we do not act, those crafts will vanish with the last old artisan in some quiet afternoon; if we do not act, the next generation will use the most powerful technology to solve the shallowest problems.
So we have decided to act.
Build it in Hainan, then reach out to the world.
So that everyone willing to guard civilisation can find a desk here;
so that every memory about to disappear can find a way to live;
so that "one world, one home" is not merely a line written on a wall.
Why we must build this university
The world today faces three questions of our era. Taken together, they point to one blank space: on the map of global higher education there is still no university that truly welds technology and culture together.
A crisis of technology ethics
AI, AGI and ASI now iterate far faster than the rules that govern them. Algorithmic bias, data sovereignty, deepfakes, and the imbalance between super-individuals and social structures are accumulating risk worldwide.
Cultural heritage at risk
A 2024 UNESCO report shows that 42% of intangible cultural heritage is close to being lost. Broken chains of transmission, insufficient digitisation, hard international reach and untapped commercial value — four obstacles at once.
Technology and the humanities torn apart
Technical education grows ever more "instrumental"; the humanities ever more "museological". The world lacks a university that can stitch the two back into one complete education.
THE SPLIT TODAY
Technology races ahead,
culture stays in the display case
Technology does not understand culture; culture does not touch technology. Heritage is preserved as a specimen, innovation propelled into stall.
WHAT WE ARE BUILDING
Technology empowers heritage,
culture leads technology toward good
An international university built around "culture × technology": making every heritage a digital productive force that can be trained, created and circulated.
The meaning of this university, told in three things
It gives disappearance a way out
Digital capture is rescue, AI modelling is reconstruction, an education system is transmission, and industrial transformation is making it live again in the present — all four must happen within one university to truly close the loop.
It gives technology a bottom line
Not everything that can be built should be built. Every student here must first learn to answer: has this technology made the world better, or merely faster?
It gives encounters a desk
The deepest misunderstandings between civilisations come from never having sat at the same table. Let students from five continents share one curriculum and one project — understanding is not achieved by telling, but by doing together.
Built in Hainan, but not only for Hainan
With Hainan as the main campus and academic hub, branches and joint research institutes are to be set up step by step across Asia, Europe, Africa, the Americas and Oceania — a "garland of five continents". No branch copies the main campus: each arrives with the most pressing questions of its own continent.
A desk for those willing to guard civilisation
The second is a branch in relationship — building a network with universities, museums, research institutes and cultural foundations, so that this university already has a group of fellow travellers before it has a single building.
Not a proposal — a path already launched
Who authorises, who applies, who approves — every node is documented. The project is currently at the preparatory stage.

The first cornerstone that moves the university from paper to reality
THE FIRST ACADEMY TO LANDThis arrangement fully follows the original design of proposal EC-0019 — which states that the university will first launch the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection and Development Centre", then establish other colleges and academic programmes in phases. The dedicated mandate of the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in June 2025 was the first pass issued for exactly this path.
Five functions
Build a digital education system for intangible heritage, training a new generation of hybrid talent fluent in both culture and technology
Build digital infrastructure for intangible heritage — capture, modelling, digital-human demonstration and virtual transmission
Organise Europe–China two-way training, joint heritage nominations and young-transmitter exchanges, and hold an annual Europe–China heritage forum
With ISO/TC349, issue Guidelines for the Digital Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage and a Carbon-Footprint Assessment Standard
Bring heritage IP together with tourism, film, wellness and the metaverse; establish heritage workshops and an incubation fund
Four course blocks

For the world
A complete path from rescue to regeneration for endangered intangible cultural heritage; and, for the age of intelligence, an educational answer to the question of what technology should serve.
For Hainan
A key missing piece for the free trade port — an academic and cultural highland where global talent will want to stay for the long term.
For China
Bringing China's cultural resources and technological capability to the world through education — as an active voice in civilisational dialogue, not a bystander.
For everyone
Anyone willing to guard civilisation can find a desk here; any craft close to vanishing can find a way to live here.
